Forscher des Helmholtz-Zentrums Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) haben nun m\u00f6glicherweise eine neue Pufferspeicherl\u00f6sung entwickelt, die bei der Erzeugung erneuerbarer Energien zum Einsatz kommen k\u00f6nnte. Die sogenannte Alkali-Metall-Jod-Batterie besteht haupts\u00e4chlich aus Zink, Nickel, Lithium und Graphit. Der Einsatz dieser Batterie in tragbaren Ger\u00e4ten oder Elektrofahrzeugen w\u00e4re hingegen schwierig, da die Batterie eine Betriebstemperatur von 240 Grad Celsius ben\u00f6tigt und daher gut isoliert sein muss. Allerdings ben\u00f6tigt die D\u00e4mmung viel Platz.<\/p>\n<p>\u201eAn solche Pufferspeicher werden gewisse Anforderungen gestellt. \u201eSie m\u00fcssen kosteng\u00fcnstig herzustellen und leicht skalierbar sein\u201c, sagt Tom Weyer vom Institut f\u00fcr Fluiddynamik des Helmholtz-Zentrums. (pv-magazine) Dies kann erreicht werden, wenn die Batteriestruktur m\u00f6glichst einfach gehalten wird. Beispielsweise besteht die Anode einer Alkalimetall-Jod-Batterie aus einem in Lithium eingebetteten Nickelschwamm. Im unteren Bereich der Zelle werden Elektronen durch Graphitfilz abgef\u00fchrt. Die hohe Betriebstemperatur ist auf den fl\u00fcssigen Salzelektrolyt zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren, der erst bei hohen Temperaturen einen fl\u00fcssigen Aggregatzustand erreicht.<\/p>\n<p>Da der Aufbau so einfach ist und keine komplexe Membran erfordert, sind f\u00fcr die Massenproduktion keine Spezialmaschinen n\u00f6tig. Die Herstellungskosten sind gering, sodass sich die Kosten einer Alkali-Metall-Jod-Batterie zum gr\u00f6\u00dften Teil aus den Materialkosten zusammensetzen.
