Der Riesenprototyp SG 14-222 DD hat einen Rotordurchmesser von 222 m und eine Leistung von 14 MW. Die Erprobung und anschlie\u00dfende Massenproduktion sind f\u00fcr 2024 geplant. Doch das Rennen um den Weltrekord geht weiter: Das d\u00e4nische Unternehmen Vestas arbeitet derzeit an einer gigantischen Windkraftanlage, die mit einer H\u00f6he von 280 m, einer Rotorl\u00e4nge von 115,5 m und einer Leistung von 15 MW den aktuellen Weltrekord brechen wird. Im Jahr 2022 d\u00fcrfte in D\u00e4nemark ein neuer Rekord aufgestellt werden.<\/p>\n<p>Dass Windr\u00e4der tats\u00e4chlich immer gr\u00f6\u00dfer gebaut werden, hat eine physikalische Erkl\u00e4rung: Eine Verdoppelung der Rotorl\u00e4nge f\u00fchrt nicht zu einer Verdoppelung der Leistung, sondern zu einer Vervierfachung. Somit ben\u00f6tigt eine gro\u00dfe Windkraftanlage weniger Platz als viele kleinere Windkraftanlagen gleicher Leistung. Gro\u00dfe Windkraftanlagen sind effizienter und erm\u00f6glichen eine g\u00fcnstigere Stromerzeugung. Gleichzeitig bedeutet eine Verdoppelung der Windgeschwindigkeit rein physikalisch eine Steigerung der Produktivit\u00e4t um das Achtfache.
