Auf der Klimakonferenz COP26 in Glasgow haben sich mehr als 100 L\u00e4nder dazu verpflichtet, die Abholzung der W\u00e4lder bis 2030 zu stoppen. Auch die L\u00e4nder mit den weltweit gr\u00f6\u00dften Waldfl\u00e4chen \u2013 Brasilien, Kanada, Russland, Kolumbien und China \u2013 haben sich dem Abkommen angeschlossen. Die Staaten wollen hierf\u00fcr 12 Milliarden US-Dollar bereitstellen, weitere 7,2 Milliarden US-Dollar sollen aus privaten Mitteln hinzukommen. Der Erhalt der W\u00e4lder ist wichtig f\u00fcr die CO2-Bindung und den Schutz der Artenvielfalt.<\/p>\n

Weitere Themen, die w\u00e4hrend der ersten drei Tage der COP26 diskutiert wurden, waren die Reduzierung der Methan-Emissionen und die Implementierung sogenannter \u201egr\u00fcner Stromnetze\u201c. Das Projekt, dem sich neben Indien und Gro\u00dfbritannien unter anderem auch die USA und Deutschland angeschlossen haben, zielt darauf ab, gr\u00fcnen Strom k\u00fcnftig besser und l\u00e4nder\u00fcbergreifend zu verteilen. Auch abgelegene Gebiete sollen die M\u00f6glichkeit erhalten, durch netzunabh\u00e4ngige Systeme ihren eigenen Strom zu erzeugen.<\/p>\n
