Die ersten Solarmodule wurden von seinem Vater auf der Scheune installiert, als Fabian noch ein Teenager war. Heute nutzt Karthaus die Sonnenenergie voll aus \u2013 nicht nur zur Stromerzeugung, sondern auch zum Anbau von Heidelbeeren und Himbeeren in seinem Photovoltaik-Gew\u00e4chshausprojekt, das er letztes Jahr zusammen mit einem befreundeten Landwirt fertiggestellt hat.<\/p>\n<p>Gemeinsam mit einem Ingenieur bauten die beiden Bauern zwei Gew\u00e4chsh\u00e4user mit D\u00e4chern aus lichtdurchl\u00e4ssigen Solarmodulen. Durch eine leichte Beschattung der Pflanzen bleibt die Feuchtigkeit im Boden erhalten, die im letzten, sehr trockenen Sommer zu stark verdunstet ist. Der Spr\u00fchnebel sorgt f\u00fcr eine ausgewogene Bew\u00e4sserung der Pflanzen mit gesammeltem Regenwasser. Auch Hagel, der Beerenfr\u00fcchte besch\u00e4digen kann, wird durch die Solarmodule abgehalten.<\/p>\n<p>Solarmodule und \u201eAgrophotovoltaikanlagen\u201c k\u00f6nnen eine effizientere Alternative zu Gew\u00e4chshaussystemen darstellen, da Kunststoffgew\u00e4chsh\u00e4user keine lange Lebensdauer haben. Die Abdeckung von Nutzpflanzen mit Solarmodulen ist zwar deutlich teurer, aus \u00f6kologischer Sicht aber sinnvoller, da Solargew\u00e4chsh\u00e4user Jahrzehnte \u00fcberdauern. In Asien werden Solarkraftwerke vor allem in der Landwirtschaft eingesetzt.
