Advancing Sustainability Education Through Language Integration

October 24, 2024 – Online Seminar for German Teachers

As part of the ENABLING PV initiative, a virtual seminar was held on October 24, 2024, to equip German language teachers from Solar Schools across the South Caucasus and Central Asia with innovative tools and methods to integrate solar energy concepts into their lessons. The seminar was conducted by Shorena Kvantchiani, a Goethe-Institute multiplier and an experienced educator in renewable energy education.

During the session, participants explored new educational materials, including an instructional film on solar energy, and were introduced to hands-on teaching tools designed to engage students in renewable energy topics. The seminar emphasized using the Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) approach, fostering an interactive and tangible understanding of sustainability in language classes.

With attendees from five countries, this initiative bridges the gap between sustainability education and language learning, empowering teachers to inspire the next generation of environmentally conscious citizens.
