On 15 September 2023, an inauguration ceremony took place at School No. 52 in Tbilisi, Georgia, marking the official launch of the Solar Schools project at the school. Present at the event were, among others, representatives from the German Embassy in Tbilisi, ZfA (Central Office for Schools Abroad), and the Goethe-Institut.

The Solar School in Tbilisi is now part of the global solar schools network. The “Solar Schools” project, supported by the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, aims to equip schools in Central Asia and the Caucasus with PV systems and to include the topics of sustainability and solar energy into German language and Physics lessons.
