Solar Universities seminar “Agricultural applications of PV” for universities in Central Asia and the Caucasus

On 17 October 2023, ideas into energy gGmbH hosted a seminar on “Agricultural applications of PV” for professors and students in Central Asia and the Caucasus. In the first part of the seminar, Prof. em. Alexander Kiryuchin gave an overview on agricultural applications of PV and how they can provide multiple benefits by reducing costs and increasing yields for farmers in Central Asia and the Caucasus. In the second part of the seminar, a business case on solar irrigation systems in Uzbekistan was presented. Subsequently, the participants of the seminar discussed how the results of the business case can be transferred to other countries of the region.

Our next seminar within the “Solar Universities” seminar series will take place on 9 November 2023 and focus on the role of batteries and energy storage in the energy transition.
