Solar Universities seminar “Batteries and energy storage in the energy transition” for universities in Central Asia and the Caucasus

On 9 November 2023, ideas into energy gGmbH hosted a seminar for professors and students in Central Asia and the Caucasus, covering the functioning and role of batteries and energy storage in the energy transition. The seminar formed the 7th session of the Solar Universities seminar series on the global energy transition, launched in February 2023 and including 8 thematic seminars on key aspects of the energy transition and the accompanying challenges within the specific context of Central Asia and the Caucasus.

As part of the seminar, Thomas Gsell, Head of the battery laboratory at HY-Line AG, gave a guest lecture on the functioning of lithium-ion batteries and their role in the energy transition and shared his insights on the latest developments and trends in the industry.

We will finalize our Solar Universities online seminar series on the global energy transition in December 2023 with a seminar on the role of smart grids as an effective countermeasure against black-outs, a recurring problem in Central Asian countries.
