Solar Universities seminar “Components of Photovoltaic Systems” for universities in Central Asia and the Caucasus
On 17 May 2023, ideas into energy gGmbH hosted a seminar for professors and students in Central Asia and the Caucasus, covering the individual components of PV systems in detail. The seminar formed the fourth session of the Solar Universities seminar series on the global energy transition, launched in February 2023 and including 8 thematic seminars on key aspects of the energy transition and the accompanying challenges within the specific context of Central Asia and the Caucasus.
The seminar covered a range of topics, including the internal photoelectric effect, the
principles of a photoelectric cell, and the different materials used in the production of PV cells
and modules. Participants also learned about the various components that make up the entire
PV system, such as batteries, inverters, and cables, and their respective functions.
The seminar, led by Prof. emer. Alexander Kiryuchin, was attended by professors and students from universities from Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Our next Solar Universities seminar will take place in June 2023 and shed light on the role and functioning of inverters as a key component of photovoltaic systems.
