Solar Universities seminar series “The Global Energy Transition” for professors and students in Central Asia and the Caucasus

On 16 February 2023, we launched a new seminar series for professors and students in Central Asia and the Caucasus, covering all topics relevant both for the global energy transition and the renewable energy transition in the region.

The Solar Universities seminar series aims to bring together universities from Central Asia and the Caucasus with stakeholders and experts from the renewable energy sector. At the same time, we create a network of universities that will drive forward the energy transition across countries and regions.

The seminar, hosted by Prof. emer. Alexander Kiryuchin, focused on current trends of the global energy transition and outlined the status quo and potential of renewables in Central Asia and the Caucasus. It was attended by professors and students from 14 universities of a wide range of countries, including Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
