Visit of Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbock during the inauguration ceremony of the solar school “School No. 60” in Tashkent
The inauguration of the Solar School took place on 01.11.2022 and was attended by the German Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs, Annalena Baerbock, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Vladimir Norov, the Minister of National Education of Uzbekistan, Bakhtier Saidov and other high ranking guests.
The solar school in Tashkent is the fourth solar school in Central Asia to be included in the growing network of solar schools. As part of the "Solar Schools" project funded by the German Federal Foreign Office, schools in Central Asia and the Caucasus are being equipped with solar systems that are installed by a local solar cell company and then integrated into German language and physics lessons. In order to gain a deeper insight into the functionality of the Solar Suitcases as well as the installed photovoltaic system, an online seminar was held for the Central Asian schools, where a representative from LexSolar, the company producing the suitcases, spoke in detail about the possibilities for experimentation.
Three solar suitcases were also presented to the school at the opening ceremony – through experiments with solar energy and other exciting activities, pupils at the solar schools are given the opportunity to actively shape the global energy transition.
