Who leads the PV market?
From the statistics of the analytical companies, one can conclude that the share of renewable energy is growing at an average rate of 25-27%. Also in 2021, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA), the share of renewable energy in electricity generation worldwide will increase to 30%, with increases in all sectors – electricity, heating, industry and transport.
With most of the increase in electricity generation coming from solar and wind, the IEA estimates that the increase in wind generation in 2021 will be about 17% higher than last year, and about 18%, or 145 TWh, will come from solar power plants, approaching 1,000 TWh in 2021.
China alone accounts for almost half of the increase in renewable electricity generation, followed by the US, the European Union and India.
The reason for this is that China will remain the largest PV market, while production growth in Brazil and Vietnam will be driven by strong policy support for distributed installations.

In Russia, the share of RES generation is projected to double to 3.4 billion kWh or 0.3% of total electricity consumption in 2020. It is expected that by 2025 the total installed capacity of RES systems will cover about 1% of the total electricity consumption in the Russian unified energy system, and by 2035 the share of RES generation in electricity consumption could reach 2-3%.
